Who is SKANESTAS?
SKANESTAS markets itself as an online trading and investment service. Its public site is presented at https://www.skanestas.net/index7.html. As with most operations of this kind, the polished front end conceals a lack of the basic protections a real, regulated broker is required to provide.
Is SKANESTAS regulated?
SKANESTAS provides no verifiable regulatory licence. An unregulated broker answers to no one: it can freeze withdrawals, invent fees, and disappear with deposits, all without consequence. This alone is reason enough to stay away.
Red flags we identified
- Withdrawals reportedly blocked behind “taxes,” “fees” or account “upgrades”
- Unrealistic profit claims and pressure to deposit more
- Account dashboards that show “gains” with no real market exposure
- No verifiable licence from a recognised financial regulator
- Aggressive “account managers” coaching clients to deposit
Our analysis
SKANESTAS says it is regulated by ASIC in Australia with license number 488828. But when we checked, that license belongs to a company — STAR FUNDS MANAGEMENT PTY LTD — and its official website is www.starfunds.com.au . This is not the same as SKANESTAS. Using someone else’s license number is misleading and suspicious. SKANESTAS also claims to be regulated by the NFA and registered with FinCEN as an MSB. However, we searched both organizations’ databases and found no record of SKANESTAS being approved for any financial services. An MSB license is not a brokerage license and does not allow trading activities. Because of these serious issues, we believe SKANESTAS is very likely a fraudulent or unlicensed broker.
Can you recover money lost to SKANESTAS?
If you have deposited with SKANESTAS, do not pay any further “fees” to withdraw — that is part of the trap. Funds sent to operations like this can sometimes be traced on-chain and pursued through the exchanges and processors that received them. Whether recovery is realistic depends on how you paid and how quickly you act.
