Who is Xtrade?

Xtrade markets itself as an online trading and investment service. Its public site is presented at https://www.xtrade.com/. It claims to be based in Belize. As with most operations of this kind, the polished front end conceals a lack of the basic protections a real, regulated broker is required to provide.

Is Xtrade regulated?

Xtrade references Belize FSC in connection with its regulatory status. We were unable to confirm this as a valid, current authorisation to handle client funds for the services Xtrade offers. Claimed or borrowed regulatory references are a common tactic used to manufacture false credibility.

Red flags we identified

  • Account dashboards that show “gains” with no real market exposure
  • No credible physical address or verifiable corporate record
  • Aggressive “account managers” coaching clients to deposit
  • Opaque or anonymous corporate ownership
  • No verifiable licence from a recognised financial regulator

Our analysis

Xtrade claims to hold a license from the Belize Financial Services Commission (Belize FSC). However, our verification with the authority suggests that all potential licenses associated with the broker have been canceled. In addition, the company purports to be licensed in South Africa by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA), and the related firm name is Peak Wealth PTY Ltd supposedly under License Number FSP44681. But on the FSCA register, the company under FSP44681 is PEAK WEALTH 8INVEST (PTY) LTD and the associated information with the licensee is inconsistent with what Xtrade asserts. Therefore, there is no evidence to suggest that Xtrade is regulated by the FSCA. In essence, Xtrade is not regulated by any governing body. Entrusting it with investors' funds is highly risky, as there are no legal protections in place to safeguard the funds. Xtrade appears to be a scam.

Can you recover money lost to Xtrade?

If you have deposited with Xtrade, do not pay any further “fees” to withdraw — that is part of the trap. Funds sent to operations like this can sometimes be traced on-chain and pursued through the exchanges and processors that received them. Whether recovery is realistic depends on how you paid and how quickly you act.
