Who is KALO?

On the surface, KALO looks like an ordinary forex and crypto broker. Its public site is presented at http://kalofx.com/en/. But surface impressions are exactly what these operations rely on — the substance behind KALO is where the problems begin.

Is KALO regulated?

We could find no evidence that KALO holds a valid licence from any recognised financial regulator. Trading client funds without authorisation is one of the strongest indicators of a scam — there is no regulator to complain to, and no protection for your money.

Red flags we identified

  • Account dashboards that show “gains” with no real market exposure
  • Opaque or anonymous corporate ownership
  • Unrealistic profit claims and pressure to deposit more
  • No verifiable licence from a recognised financial regulator
  • No credible physical address or verifiable corporate record

Our analysis

KALO claims to be owned and operated by KALO GLOBAL LIMITED, a UK-based company supervised by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). However, nowhere did its website mention the regulatory information or its company details. The lack of such information may be a distinct characteristic of unlicensed brokers, as regulated brokers always present their accreditation and licenses in a prominent position. Probing further into this broker, we found the alleged FCA-regulation is nothing but fake as we didn't find any matching results from FCA. So KALO is not overseen by any financial regulator. That means investors' funds in this broker is unsafe and cannot be protected by any laws. Therefore, it is a scam.

Can you recover money lost to KALO?

If you have deposited with KALO, do not pay any further “fees” to withdraw — that is part of the trap. Funds sent to operations like this can sometimes be traced on-chain and pursued through the exchanges and processors that received them. Whether recovery is realistic depends on how you paid and how quickly you act.
