Who is Smart Trade?
On the surface, Smart Trade looks like an ordinary forex and crypto broker. Its public site is presented at https://smarttradecompany.com/. But surface impressions are exactly what these operations rely on — the substance behind Smart Trade is where the problems begin.
Is Smart Trade regulated?
Smart Trade provides no verifiable regulatory licence. An unregulated broker answers to no one: it can freeze withdrawals, invent fees, and disappear with deposits, all without consequence. This alone is reason enough to stay away.
Red flags we identified
- Account dashboards that show “gains” with no real market exposure
- No verifiable licence from a recognised financial regulator
- No credible physical address or verifiable corporate record
- Aggressive “account managers” coaching clients to deposit
- Opaque or anonymous corporate ownership
Our analysis
Smart Trade is a thorough scam for two main reasons. Firstly, Smart Trade presents neither details of its regulations nor legal documents (terms & conditions, risk disclosure, and privacy policy, etc.). Lacking the above information may be a distinct characteristic of unlicensed brokers, as legit brokers always present their accreditation and licenses in a prominent position. It is a red flag here. Besides, Smart Trade shows two office addresses in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Santiago, Chile. As per the information we hold, none of the above countries or regions has authorities that issue licenses for forex brokers or regulates entities offering forex services. That means Smart Trade is not overseen by any regulators. Investors' funds in this broker are unsafe and cannot be protected by any law. Therefore, it is a scam.
Can you recover money lost to Smart Trade?
If you have deposited with Smart Trade, do not pay any further “fees” to withdraw — that is part of the trap. Funds sent to operations like this can sometimes be traced on-chain and pursued through the exchanges and processors that received them. Whether recovery is realistic depends on how you paid and how quickly you act.
