On the surface, tradovate looks like an ordinary forex and crypto broker. Its public site is presented at https://www.tradovate.com/. But surface impressions are exactly what these operations rely on — the substance behind tradovate is where the problems begin.
Is tradovate regulated?
tradovate provides no verifiable regulatory licence. An unregulated broker answers to no one: it can freeze withdrawals, invent fees, and disappear with deposits, all without consequence. This alone is reason enough to stay away.
Red flags we identified
- Account dashboards that show “gains” with no real market exposure
- Unrealistic profit claims and pressure to deposit more
- No credible physical address or verifiable corporate record
- Withdrawals reportedly blocked behind “taxes,” “fees” or account “upgrades”
- Offshore or shell-company registration used to avoid oversight
Our analysis
Tradovate claims to be operated by NinjaTrader Group LLC and references oversight by the National Futures Association (NFA) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) . However, our checks show that while NinjaTrader Group LLC appears in the NFA’s registration database, it is explicitly listed as not an NFA Member , meaning it does not hold an active NFA license to offer regulated trading services. Besides, there is also no record of authorization from the CFTC for retail forex or derivatives trading. In effect, Tradovate operates without a valid license for forex or other financial instruments in USA . Therefore, tradovate appears to be a scam.
Can you recover money lost to tradovate?
If you have deposited with tradovate, do not pay any further “fees” to withdraw — that is part of the trap.
